Solutions such as the “Smart Home”, “Smart Wiring”, and “Clever Home” all describe a centralised cabling system for services such as telephone, data, audio visual and other home automation systems. Often they employ the Clipsal Star Serve(TM) or Hills Home Hub(TM) enclosure, which is typically located in a store room, laundry cupboard or wardrobe.
Communications infrastructure includes connectivity for phones, and internet. A central connection point for all communications cabling is a great idea allowing outlets around a home to be patched (or connected) to the relevant service. Having the cabling centrally housed allows the use of a given outlet to change over the life of the home – telephone point today, data outlet tomorrow. As we know, nearly all household electronic devices need the internet these days – TV’s, BluRay Players, X-Box, Playstation, & Set Top Boxes such as (BeyondWiz or TIVO) – did we forget to mention computers and laptops? Sure wifi is an option for some devices, but certainly not all. And, wifi can be slow to establish a connection, and it often limited by bandwidth constrictions and other neighboring wireless networks. If you want good solid connectivity that is fast, use a cable. Our systems offer complete flexibility to allow your cabling infrastructure to adapt and change to your ever-changing circumstances.
Today, it is highly desirable to have televisions is most of the main rooms of a house such as the lounge, family, & bedrooms. However it is not desirable to have a Foxtel Set Top Box (STB), Personal Video Recorder (PVR) or a DVD/Blu-Ray player at each installation. Why not have a central location for the playback sources, but have them viewable at ANY TV in the house?! Impossible you say? No Way! Talk to us today regarding how we can remove the clutter from under your TV’s with a centralised solution.
In today’s connected world, we expect to be able to monitor and control house-hold appliances and infrastructure from our mobile phone and/or tablet. We specialise in providing home automation services to residential dwellings which might include;
- Monitoring the home using CCTV
- Internet & Wifi connectivity
- Access control solutions at front door, rear door, gates, & roller doors
- Piped or distributed audio
- Distributed audio visual sources (in high definition)
- Centralised audio visual infrastructure
- Home theatre solutions
Such functionality can be retrofitted into existing dwellings but is best designed in as part of a new build due to the expense of retro fitting. As a guide, our solutions would usually be employed in homes valued at $1mil or more. Speak to one of our design consultants for more details.
