Central DSL Filters & Splitters
Every home can benefit from the installation of a Central DSL Filter/Splitter.
If you have a security system or a medical dialler it is highly recommended that a Central DSL Filter/Splitter is installed.
What is a DSL Central Filter/Splitter?
Central DSL Filter/Splitters are usually installed in the roof space of your home near to your telecommunications Building Entry Point. They ensure that the DSL service is filtered out and reticulated through to a specific outlet within the house specifically for your DSL modem. All other telephone outlets in the house do not have the DSL signal present, therefore those annoying little white filters will not be required on each of the phone outlets present in the house. This is particually important where security systems or medical diallers are installed, as DSL signals do not work effectively when they pass through such items. From a speed perspective, the best download/upload speeds are achieved when DSL filters/splitters are installed.
Internet Service Providers (ISP’s) are also aware of this fact and will stipulate this as a requirement prior to conducting any on-site fault analysis.
If you have been experiencing a large number of internet drop-outs at home and do not have a Central DSL Filter/Splitter, you may benefit be having one installed.
