Panic, Duress & Hold Up Buttons
Panic, Duress & Hold Up Buttons are used to initiate the presence of emergency services such as police and ambulance in the event of a situation in a home or workplace.
They can be hard-wired or wireless and come in a variety of forms;
Both wired and wireless versions require connection to an intruder alarm system of some description and do not operate in isolation. The programming of the alarm system will usually trigger output events such as flashing lights, sounding buzzers, or dialing out to a central monitoring station (CMS) when a button is pushed. Local work piers and/or the CMS monitoring staff will then be able to assist. This may include simply coming to assist physically in the case of on-site staff, or in the case of the CMS, they may have instructions to call emergency services such as Police, Ambulance, or 000 Emergency.
