the initial problem/need

The Gawler & Barrossa Jockey Club commenced development of their Evanston site in 2009. The development included a brand new function centre, stewards building, gatehouse, sheds, & car parking plus re-building of some existing covered areas. The site is expansive and needed a professional public address and pro audio system to cater for the diverse range of functions held at the venues. This ranged from the periodic ‘race days’ where the entire grounds were used (spanning several buildings and external areas) through to corporate functions/business meetings and weddings and other special occasions.

the challenges

  • Install a reliable high quality public address system for race calling, background music & announcements across an expansive site
  • Several unique zones, each requiring individual volume control and in some cases, a unique source input
  • External use of wireless microphones
  • Different sized spaces each with their own accoustic characteristics and speaker requirements

how the solution was implemented

The installation process spanned many months of the construction phase and different stages of the building process. From first fixing cabling, to installing devices and hardware, to programming and commissioning. A-COM Solutions technicians were able to provide real solutions to the clients, builders, & consultants during the various stages of the project, and as new requirements were realised new solutions were developed to meet those needs.
