The Initial Problem / Need

In 2010, Campbelltown City Council embarked on a ambicious project to redevelop the Cambelltown Public Library facility in what was a multi-million dollar project. Council had several clear objectives for the new facility in terms of the services that would available and on offer to the general public. They were also difinitive as to the look and feel of the space at the conclusion of the project, wanting to ensure that a light airy feel is maintained, whilst still offering the absolute best in terms of technology and meeting facilities. This included computer training suites, meeting rooms, history room, youth area, & an extensive childrens area. For their audio visual technology and their public address paging system, council chose to use the services of A-COM Solutions.

A-COM Solutions were brought into the project as a design and construct partner as there were elements of the building design which had not been specified by the consultants in full. A-COM Solutions worked closely with councils IT department to finalise the concepts and design of the AV and Pro-audio paging systems to ensure that the overall objectives were met, whilst also catering for the needs of the facility from a functionality perspective and technical standpoint.

How The Solution Was Implemented

The redevelopment of the library was carried out over two major stages of construction. During the entire construction timeline, the library needed to operate continuously which added pressure to the construction team. The usual first fix, second fix and commissioning processes were carried out for Stage one, but with one major difference. Due to the staging of the construction, the A-COM Solutions installation team had the forthought to ensure the pro audio system controller equipment was installed into Stage One, thus making stage two a little simpler from an installation perspective. An appropriate location for the centralised pro audio equipment was agreed, and installation commenced. Despite the challanges of the building itself, the entire installation happened without a hitch. Thanks to the dedicated installation team, the overal outcome was excellent.

Customer Feedback

A-COM Solutions were successful in being contracted to provide audio visual solutions for Council in the Council Chambers, Function Centre and Campbelltown Library. Brenton [Kelly] and his team utilised the latest technology in audio visual solutions to meet the complex requirements at a competitive price. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and display a sense of pride in being involved in a community related project, particularly the library where local residents will utilise and enjoy the equipment supplied. Brenton is reliable and dependable and explains all aspects of the implementation in detail as well as providing training where required. I wouldn’t hesitate to ask A-COM Solutions to bid for any prospective work which becomes available in the future.  A verbal reference is also available upon request.
