CASE STUDY – Audio Visual Systems – O’Loughlin’s Lawyers
The Initial Problem/Need
O’Loughlin’s Lawyers decided to upgrade their meeting and boardroom facilities which included the upgrade of furniture & fittings, carpets, air conditioning and audio visual systems. O’Loughlins wanted to ensure their facility was reflective of their attitude of ‘excellence’ in every way possible. They sought advice from A-COM Solutions on how to approach their audio visual systems and wanted ideas on how to maximise the existing equipment that they had available to them.
A-COM Solutions provided advice on room layout, screen and projector positioning, and general audio visual functionality, designing a system to suit based around O’Loughlin’s existing LCD projector.
The Challenges
The challenges associated with the project included liaising with architects, designers and other trades in order to ensure all parties’ needs were met, and that the client’s overall objective was achieved. Along with the audio visual installation, other trades were constantly working in the room upgrading carpets, tiles, furniture, air conditioning and lighting. A-COM Solutions technical team worked with and around all other interested parties and ensured smooth passage through the project build.
The Solution
The solution consisted of the following functionality;
- Computer projection to big screen
- Presentation (PC) audio
- High Definition Television reception with hi fi audio
- Background music via iPod device
- System automation and centralised control
- Power/Electrical requirements
- Data Communications for computer LAN
- Telephone outlets for existing teleconferencing equipment

- NEC LCD Projector with ceiling mount bracket
- System Controller (fully programmed for automatic screen and projector functions)
- High Definition set top box
- 8″ Hifi 2-Way flush ceiling speakers & high power amplifiction system
- Antenna & audio visual cabling
- Wall plates and patch leads
- Wireless bluetooth keyboard and mouse
