  • News - CCTV Resolutions Compared

    Are you confused between the difference of analogue camera resolutions and megapixel resolutions?

    When purchasing a CCTV Video Surveillance solution, a decision needs to be made between analogue cameras and megapixel (IP) cameras. Whilst hybrid solutions do exist allowing both to co-exist, there are some compromises. Hybrid systems will often allow IP cameras to be connected, however they are recorded at a lower resolution than what they can natively produce. Dedicated Network Video Recorders (NVR’s) on the other hand record the video at it’s native resolution with no compromises.

  • News - Labelling Standard TIA606A-1 adopted for professional installations

    The Telecommunications Industry Association TIA606A-1 standard defines a labeling standard that maps each cable in an installation precisely to the floor, telecom room, and patch panel position or block where the cable terminates. The TIA606A-1 standard isn’t mandatory, but A-COM Solutions has adopted it as standard practice across all of our installations.

  • News - Additional TV Channels for Spencer Gulf Region

    Southern Cross Austereo have commenced the broadcasting of 5 new digital channels in the Spencer Gulf region (South Australia). The new channels are: 7mate, 7Two, Go, Gem and OneHD.

    Southern Cross Austereo recently launched Channel 9 in October 2010 and then Channel Eleven in January 2011. The broadcaster has indicated that their Engineering teams have been working extremely hard to install over 20 new digital transmitters across the region

  • News - Additional Digital TV Channels for Regional South Australia

    Senator Stephen Conroy, (the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy),  congratulated commercial broadcasters today for their ongoing efforts to produce a greater viewing experience for South Australians.

    Bordertown, Keith, Kingston, Robe, the Gap and Naracoorte areas will now be able to receive the commercial digital channels GO!, Gem, 7TWO, 7mate, One and Eleven from 10 Nov 2011.

    All viewers who already have digital reception will need to retune their set-top boxes or digital televisions in order to receive the new digital services in their area.

    Viewers tuned to Mt Burr, Mt. Benson, Naracoorte and The Gap transmitter should rescan from 0930hrs on …
